Sirach 47:11
Good News Translation
The Lord forgave David's sin and established his power forever. He made a covenant with him that he and his descendants would reign in splendor over Israel.

The Lord took away his sins, and exalted his power forever; he gave him a covenant of kingship and a glorious throne in Israel.

Contemporary English Version
The Lord forgave David's sins and made him a glorious king, and he also promised that the kings of Israel would be David's descendants for all time.
