Isaiah 52

1Awake, awake; put on your strength, O Zion; put on your beautiful clothes, O Jerusalem, the holy city; the uncircumcised and the unclean shall never enter you again. 2Shake off your dust; arise, and sit enthroned, O Jerusalem; free yourself from the chains on your neck, O captive daughter of Zion. 3For thus says the LORD, “You have sold yourselves for nothing; and you shall be redeemed without money”. 4For this is what the sovereign LORD God says: “At the first, My people went down into Egypt to dwell there; and now, lately, the Assyrian oppressed them without cause. 5“Now, therefore, what do I have here”, says the LORD, “that My people are taken away for nothing; and those that rule over them mock them”, says the LORD, and My name is blasphemed every day. 6Therefore, My people shall know My name; therefore, they shall know in that day that I am He Who foretold it; behold, it is I. 7How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that brings good tidings, that publishes peace; that brings good tidings of good, that publishes salvation; that says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” 8Your watchmen shall shout and sing with joy; for they shall see it with their own eyes, when the LORD returns to Zion. 9Burst into joyful singing together, you ruins of Jerusalem; for the LORD has comforted His people, He has redeemed Jerusalem. 10The LORD has revealed His holy arm before the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God. 11Depart, depart, go out from where you were captive, where everything you touched was unclean; come out from there; be cleansed, you that bear the vessels of the LORD. 12But you shall not leave in hasty flight; for the LORD will go before you, and the God of Israel will be your rear guard.

13Behold, My Servant shall act prudently, He shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high honored. 14Just as many were appall at Him - His appearance was so marred - more than any man, and His form disfigured more than any man - 15So shall He sprinkle many nations; the kings shall be speechless before Him; for what they had not been told to them they shall see, and what they had not heard, they shall suddenly understand.
