10And as He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. 11There was a woman who had been crippled by an infirmity for eighteen years, and was bent over, and could in no way stand erect. 12And when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him, and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity”. 13And He laid His hands on her; and immediately she stood erect, and glorified God. 14And the leader of the synagogue reacted with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath day, and said to the people, “There are six days in which men ought to work; so come and be healed on one of those days, and not on the Sabbath day”. 15The Lord then answered him, “You hypocrite, do not every one of you loosen his ox or his donkey from the stall, and lead it away to watering on the sabbath? 16And should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound for all these eighteen years, not be freed from Satan’s bond on the Sabbath day?” 17And when He had said this, all His critics were ashamed; and all the people were delighted and rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.

18Then Jesus asked, “What is the kingdom of God like? And what shall I compare it to? 19It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and became a great tree; and the birds of the air nested in the branches of it”. 20And again He asked, “What shall I compare the kingdom of God to? 21It is like leaven (yeast), which a woman put just a few measures of in a large batch of bread dough; and even though she put only a small amount of leaven (yeast) in, it permeated the entire lump of dough, till the whole was leavened.”

22And Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching, as he journeyed toward Jerusalem. 23Then someone said to Him, “Lord, are there only few people that will be saved?” And He said to them, 24“Make every effort to enter in at the narrow gate; for many, I tell you, will try to enter, but shall not be able to. 25Once the owner of the house gets up, and shuts the door, and you stand outside, and knock at the door, and say, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us’; but He shall answer you, ‘I do not know you nor where you are from.’ 26Then you will say, ‘We have eaten and drunk in Your presence, and You have taught in our streets’. 27But He shall say, ‘I tell you, I do not know you, nor where you are from; get away from Me, all you workers of evil”. 28There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth there, when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out. 29And people shall come from the east, from the west, from the north, and from the south, and shall take their places in the kingdom of God. 30Indeed, there are those who are last who shall be first, and there those who are first who shall be last.”

31At that time some of the Pharisees came, saying to Jesus, “Get away from here if You want to live; for Herod will kill You”. 32And He said to them, “Go, and tell that fox, ‘I will continue driving out demons, and healing people today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall have finished (accomplished) My purpose. 33Nevertheless, I must press on today, tomorrow, and on the next day; for it would not do for a prophet of God to be killed outside of Jerusalem.’ 34O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets, and stone those that are sent to you; how often would I have gathered your children together, as a hen gathers her brood (chicks) under her wings, and you would not let Me! 35And now look, your house is left to you desolate; and I truly tell to you, ‘You shall not see Me again until the time come when you shall say, ‘Blessed is He that comes in the name of the Lord’.”
