Mark 3

1And He again entered the synagogue; and there was a man there who had a paralyzed hand. 2And since it was the Sabbath, those looking for a reason to find fault with Him watched Him, to see if He would heal the man on the Sabbath day. 3And Jesus said to the man who had the paralyzed hand, “Come and stand here in front of everyone”. 4And then Jesus asked them, “Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? To save life, or to kill?” But they remained silent. 5And when He had looked around at them in anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand”. And he stretched it out; and his hand was immediately restored like his other hand. 6And then Pharisees went out, and began plotting with the Herodians how they might arrange to kill Him.

7But Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea of Galilee; and a great crown from Galilee followed Him - people from Judaea, 8From Jerusalem, from Idumaea, from beyond Jordan; and those from around Tyre and Sidon – vast numbers that came to Him when they had heard what great things He did. 9And He told His disciples that a small boat should be kept available to Him because of the throng, to keep them from crowding Him. 10For He had healed so many that they pushed forward to try to touch Him - many that had plagues. 11And whenever those possessed by demons saw Him, they fell before Him, and cried, “You are the Son of God. 12And He gave them strict orders not to make Him known.

13And then Jesus went up into a mountain, and called unto Him those that He wanted; and they came to Him. 14And He ordained (appointed) twelve, and He called them His apostles, that they should be with Him, and that He might send them forth to preach, 15And to have authority to heal sicknesses, and to cast (drive) out demons; 16And Simon He surnamed Peter; 17And James, the son of Zebedee, and John, the brother of James; whom He surnamed ‘Boanerges’, which means, “The sons of thunder”; 18And Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James, the son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon, the Canaanite, 19And Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.

20And then Jesus went up into a house, and again, the crowd gathered, so that they could not so much as eat. 21And when His family heard what was happening, they came to lay hold on Him; for they said, “He is beside Himself (out if His mind). 22And the scribes (teachers of the law) who came down from Jerusalem said, “He has (or is possessed by) Beelzebub (which means: ‘lord of the house’, the title of a heathen deity, to whom the Jews ascribed the sovereignty of the evil spirits; Satan, the prince of the devils.), and by the prince of the demons He casts (drives) out demons”. 23And Jesus called them over to Him, and said the following to them: “How can Satan cast out Satan? 24And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. 25And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. 26And if Satan opposes himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has come to an end. 27In fact, no one can go into a strong man's house, and steal his goods, without first binding (restraining) the strong man; after which they can spoil his house. 28Truly I tell you that all sins can be forgiven men, and whatever blasphemies with which they may blaspheme; 29But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit (by attributing the works of the Holy Spirit, such as this freeing a man of demon possession, to the work of the spirit of evil - Satan) will never be forgiven, but is in danger of eternal condemnation (judgment);” 30Because they (the scribes, teachers of the law), said, “He is possessed by an evil spirit”.

31Then His mother and His brothers came and stood outside and sent someone to call Him. 32And the crowd sat around Him, and said to Him, “Your mother and Your brothers are outside looking for You.” 33And He replied, “Who is My mother, or My brother?” 34And He looked around at those seated in a circle around Him, and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! 35For whoever does the will of God, they are My brother, sister, and mother.”
