A Psalm of David.

1Blessed be the LORD, my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; 2My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and He in Whom I trust; Who subdued people under me. 3LORD, what is man, that You care for him? Or the son of man, that You take note of him? 4The life of man is as brief as a breath; his days are as a shadow that passes away. 5Part Your heavens, O LORD, and come down; touch the mountains, and they shall smoke. 6Send forth lightning, and scatter the enemy; shoot Your arrows, and rout them. 7Reach down from above; rescue me from out of deep waters, from the hand of foreigners, 8Whose mouths speak vain lies, and their right hand is deceitful. 9I will sing a new song unto You, O God; played upon an instrument of ten strings, I will sing praises unto You. 10To You Who gives victory to kings; Who delivers David, Your servant, from the deadly sword. 11Deliver me, and deliver me from the hand of foreigners, whose mouths speak vanity, and their right hand is a right hand is deceitful.

12Then our sons may be like nurtured plants growing up in their youth; and our daughters may be pillars, polished after those of a palace; 13That our barns may be full, providing affording all manner of food; that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields; 14That our oxen may be strong to pull heavy loads; that there be no breaching of our walls; that there be no cry of distress in our streets. 15Happy is that people, that are in such a state; yea, happy are the people, whose God is the LORD.

David's Psalm of praise, in his later years, reflecting upon his past life.
