2And I saw the seven angels who stood before God, and seven trumpets were given to them. 3And another angel who had a golden censer came and stood at the altar; and a great amount of incense was given to him, to offer with the prayers of all the saints (God’s people) upon the golden altar before the throne. 4And the smoke of the incense, mixed with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel's hand. 5And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it onto the earth; and there were thunder-claps, lightning flashes, and an earthquake.

6And then the seven angels with the seven trumpets prepared to sound. 7The first angel sounded his trumpet, and hail and fire mixed with blood were hurled upon the earth; and a third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

8And then the second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze with fire, was thrown into the sea; and a third part of the sea turned into blood; 9And the third of the sea creatures died; and the third of the ships at sea were destroyed.

10And the third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star from heaven, blazing like a torch, fell upon a third of the rivers, and springs of waters. 11The name of that star is “Wormwood”; and a third of the water became wormwood (bitter); and many people died from drinking that water, because it had become bitter.

12And the fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, was struck, so that a third of them was darkened, and a third of the day was without light, as well as a third of the night. 13And as I watched, I heard an eagle flying in midair, calling with a loud voice, “Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabitants of the earth, because the trumpets of the other three angels have yet to sound!”
