12Therefore, just as sin entered into the world by one man, and sin brought death; and so death spread to all men, because we have all sinned; 13Sin was indeed in the world before the law was given; but sin was not charged against anyone when there was no law. 14Nonetheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, reigning over even those that did not sin by disobeying an explicit command as Adam did, who is a symbolic representation of the One to come (Christ). 15But there is a great difference between Adam’s sin and God’s free and gracious gift. For the sin of this man, Adam, brought death to many. But even greater is God’s free gift of grace and forgiveness to many through one Man, Jesus Christ. 16And this free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For Adam’s sin led to condemnation, but God’s free gift brought justification, even after many trespasses. 17For if, because of one man's sin, death reigned; much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the God’s gift of righteousness reign in life by One, Jesus Christ. 18Therefore, just as one offense led to condemnation for all people; even so, by one act by Jesus Christ, a right relationship with God was made available for all men. 19For just as by one man's disobedience many became sinners, so by the obedience of One, many shall be made righteous.

20God’s law was given so that all people could become aware of how sinful they were– but where sin increased, grace even much more abounded (increased); 21So that, just as sin has reigned unto death, even so grace might reign through righteousness, to bring eternal life by Jesus Christ, our Lord.
