1And all the tribes of the house of Israel came to David at Khebron and they said to him: “Behold, we are your flesh and your bone! 2Also from yesterday and from the day before yesterday, when Shaul was King over us, you were the one bringing out and bringing in Israel, and LORD JEHOVAH said to you: ‘You shall shepherd my people Israel and you will be the Leader over my people Israel’ 3And all the Elders of Israel came to the King at Khebron, and King David covenanted a covenant with them in Khebruun before LORD JEHOVAH, and they anointed David to reign over Israel 4David was a son of thirty years when he was made to reign, and he reigned forty years 5In Khebruun he reigned over those of the house of Yehuda seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Yehuda

6And King David went on and his men to Jerusalem against the Yebusites, the inhabitants of the land, and they spoke to David, saying: “You will not enter here unless you have destroyed the blind and the lame”, and they said: “David shall not enter here!” 7And David seized Metsruth of Zion, this is the city of David 8And David said on that day: “Everyone who strikes the Yebusites and whoever comes with shields against the blind and to the lame hates the soul of David!” Because of this, the blind and the lame said: “He shall not enter the house!” 9And David sat down in Metsruth this is Zion, and he called it “The City of David”, and David built around it from within 10And David went on and became great and LORD JEHOVAH, The God of Hosts, was with him

11And Khiram, King of Tsur, sent Messengers to David, and wood of cedar and the Craftsmen of wood and the Craftsmen of stone of the wall, and they built a house for David

12And David knew that LORD JEHOVAH had established him King over Israel, and his Kingdom was exalted over his people Israel

13And David took again concubines and wives from Jerusalem after he came from Khebron, and sons and daughters were born again to David 14And these are the names of the sons that were born to him in Jerusalem: “Shamua and Shabqab and Nathan and Solomon 15And Yukabar and Elisha and Nephag and Naphi 16And Elishema and Elida and Eliphlat

17And the Philistines heard that they anointed David to reign over Israel, and all the Philistines came up to look for David, and David heard and he came down to Metsruth 18And the Philistines came and they camped in the Valley of the Giants 19And David inquired with LORD JEHOVAH and said: “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hands?” And LORD JEHOVAH said to him: “Go up, because I shall deliver them into your hands” 20And David came to Baal Partsim and he struck them there. And David said: “LORD JEHOVAH broke through his enemies before me like a breach of waters.” Because of this, he called the name of that country, Baal Partsim 21And they left their idols there, and David and his men picked them up

22And the Philistines went up again and they camped in the Valley of the Giants 23And David asked of LORD JEHOVAH and LORD JEHOVAH said to him: “Do not go up, but turn yourself from behind them and come upon them from opposite Bakim 24And when you have heard the sound of those walking on the top of the mountain of Bakim, then be strong, because then LORD JEHOVAH has gone out before you to strike the encampment of the Philistines” 25And David did in this way, just as LORD JEHOVAH commanded him, and struck the Philistines from Gebah and unto the entrance of Gadar
