Psalm 3
New Heart English Bible
[A Psalm by David, when he fled from Absalom his son.] LORD, how my adversaries have increased. Many rise up against me.

Many there are who say of my soul, "There is no salvation for him in God." Selah.

But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.

I cried out to the LORD with my voice, and he answered me from his holy mountain. Selah.

I lay down and slept. I awoke, for the LORD sustains me.

I am not afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me on every side.

Arise, LORD. Save me, my God. For you slap all my enemies in the face. You break the teeth of the wicked.

Salvation belongs to the LORD. Your blessing is upon your people. Selah.
