1[[To the Heavenly Worship Leader, Maskhil [a contemplative poem], for the sons of Korakh [Bald].]] As the deer pants after the water brooks, so pants my soul after youⁱ, O God-Elohim (The Living Word) [The Many Powered].

2My soul thirsts for God-Elohim (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], for El Chai [The Powerful Living Word of God]: when shall I come and appear before God-Elohim (The Living Word) [The Many Powered]?

3My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where [is] yourⁱ God-Elohim (The Living Word) [The Many Powered]?

4When I remember these [things], I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God-Elohim (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.

5Why are youⁱ cast down, O my soul? and [why] are youⁱ disquieted in me? hope youⁱ in God-Elohim (The Living Word) [The Many Powered]: for I shall yet praise him [for] the help of his Countenance (Face, appearance; show favor).

6O my God-Elohim (The Living Word) [The Many Powered], my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember youⁱ from the land of Yarden [Descender], and of the Hermonim [a sanctuary], from the hill Mizar [small].

7Deep calls unto deep at the noise of yourⁱ waterspouts: all yourⁱ waves and yourⁱ billows are gone over me.

8[Yet] the LORD-Yehovah [Messiah Pre-Incarnate] will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song [shall be] with me, [and] my prayer unto the God-El Chai’i [The Powerful Living Word of My Life].

9I will say unto God-El Sal’i [The Powerful Living Word My Rock], Why have youⁱ forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

10[As] with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach (disgrace; shame) me; while they say daily unto me, Where [is] yourⁱ God-Elohim (The Living Word) [The Many Powered]?

11Why are youⁱ cast down, O my soul? and why are youⁱ disquieted within me? hope youⁱ in God-Elohim (The Living Word) [The Many Powered]: for I shall yet praise him, [who is] the health of my Countenance (Face, appearance; show favor), and my God-Elohim (The Living Word) [The Many Powered].
