6 And David appointed administrators and managers over the poor and needy, to provide and distribute to the poor; one person over each ten, and they lacked nothing. And David appointed them all in their courses according to the sons of Levi; namely, Gershon, Kohath, and Merari. 7 Of the Gershonites were Ladan and Shimei. 8 The sons of Ladan: his first-born was Nahliel, and then Jotham and Joel, three. 9 And the sons of Shimei: Shelomoth, Haziel, and Aran, three. These were the chiefs of the fathers of Shimei. 10 And the sons of Shimei were, Nahat, Zabda, Jeush, and Beriah. These were the four sons of Shimei 11 And Nahat was his first-born, Zabda the second; but Jeush and Beriah did not have many sons; therefore they were included in their father's family as one. 12 The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four. 13 The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron was chosen to minister in the Holy of Holies, he and his sons for ever, to burn incense before the LORD, to minister to him, and to bless in his name for ever. 1 Chronicles 23:6-13, Lamsa Bible.
