1 Benjamin (son of the right hand) was the father of Bela (destruction) his firstborn, Ashbel (fire of Bel) the second, Aharah (a following brother) the third,

2 Nohah (rest) the fourth, and Rapha (tall) the fifth.

3 The sons of Bela (destruction): Addar (exceedingly glorious), Gera (a grain), Abihud (my father is majesty),

4 Abishua (my father is safety), Naaman (pleasantness), Ahoah (brother of rest),

5 Gera (a grain), Shephuphan (serpent), and Huram (noble born).

6 These were the descendants of Ehud (united) who were the heads of the families living in Geba (hill) and were exiled to Manahath (rest):

7 Naaman (pleasantness), Ahijah (brother of Yah), and Gera (a grain), who carried them into exile and (and Gera, that is Heglam,) who was the father of Uzza (strength) and Ahihud.

8 Shaharaim (double dawn) had sons in the country of Moab (of his father) after he had divorced his wives Hushim (who makes haste) and Baara (brutish).

9 His sons by his wife Hodesh (new moon): Jobab (a desert), Zibia (roe), Mesha (freedom), Malcam (great king),

10 Jeuz (counselor), Sachia (announcement), and Mirmah (fraud). These were his sons, heads of families.

11 He also had sons by Hushim (who makes haste): Abitub (my father is goodness) and Elpaal (God is maker).

12 The sons of Elpaal (God is maker): Eber (the region beyond), Misham (purification), Shemed (preserved) (who built Ono (vigorous) and Lod (travail) with its villages),

13 and Beriah (with a friend) and Shema (hear) (who were the heads of families living in Aijalon (field of deer) and who drove out the inhabitants of Gath (winepress)).
