That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we looked at and our hands touched, concerning the Word of life—

and the life was made manifest, and we have seen and bear witness, and we declare to you? the eternal life, which was with the Father and was made manifest to us—

that which we have seen and have heard we declare to you? also, so that you? also may have fellowship with us. And indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.

And these things we write so that our joy may be full.

And this is the message that we have heard from Him and we announce to you?, that God is light, and in Him is no darkness—none.

If we should say that we have fellowship with Him and should walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.

But if we should walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.

If we should say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

If we should confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, that He may forgive us our sins and may cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
