2 Chronicles 17:1-6 ▼

1 And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place, and he strengthened himself against Israel.

2 And he put troops in all the fortified cities of Judah, and he put garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim that Asa his father had captured.

3 And YHWH was with Jehoshaphat because he walked in the former ways of David his father. He did not seek the Baals,

4 but the God of his father he sought, and in His commandments he walked, and not according to the acts of Israel.

5 And YHWH established the kingdom in his hand. And all Judah gave tribute to Jehoshaphat, and were unto him riches and honor in abundance.

6 And his heart was lifted up in the ways of YHWH, and moreover he turned aside the high places and the Asherah poles from Judah.
