And Solomon began to build the house of YHWH—at Jerusalem in the mount of Moriah where He had appeared to David his father—in the place that David had prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

And he began to build in the second month, on the second, in the fourth year of his reign.

And these Solomon founded for building the house of God: The length was, by cubits, according to the former measure, sixty cubits, and the width twenty cubits.

And the portico that was in the front, the length on the front of the width of the house was twenty cubits, and the height was twenty, and He overlaid the inside with pure gold.

And the larger room he paneled with cypress, and he overlaid it with fine gold, and he carved on it palm trees and chains.

And he decorated the house with precious stones for beauty, and the gold was gold of Parvaim.

And He overlaid the house, the beams, and the thresholds, and its walls, and its doors, with gold, and he carved cherubim on the walls.
