15 Now My eyes will be open, and My ears attentive, to the prayer in this place. 16 For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there even to forever, and My eyes and My heart will be there all the days. 17 And you, if you walk before Me as David your father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My ordinances, 18 then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, as I cut with David your father, saying, ‘There shall not be cut off to you a man to rule in Israel.’ 19 And if you? turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments that I have set before you?, and walk and serve other gods, and worship them, 20 then I will uproot them from My land that I have given them, and this house that I have sanctified for My name, I will cast out from before My face, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all the peoples. 21 And this house that is a heap of rubble, all who pass by it will be astonished and say, ‘Why has YHWH done thus to this land and to this house?’ 22 And they will answer, ‘Because that they have forsaken YHWH, God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and embraced other gods, and worshiped them and served them, upon thus He has brought upon them all this evil.’” 2 Chronicles 7:15-22, Berean Literal Bible.
