1 Do you, therefore, my child, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things which you heard from me, through many witnesses, these commit to faithful men, who will be competent to teach others also. 3 Suffer hardship with me , as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No one, serving as a soldier, entangles himself in the affairs of life, that he may please him who enrolled him as a soldier. 5 And, if also one contends in the games, he is not crowned, unless he contends lawfully. 6 The toiling husbandman must first partake of the fruits. 7 Consider what I am saying; for the Lord will give you discernment in all things. 8 Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead, of the seed of David, according to my Gospel; 9 wherein I am suffering hardship, even to bonds, as a malefactor; but the Word of God has not become bound. 10 Therefore, I suffer all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory. 11 Faithful is the saying; for, if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him ; 12 if we endure, we shall also reign with Him ; if we deny Him , He will also deny us; 2 Timothy 2:1-12, Worrell New Testament.
