1 Now in the church {ekklēsian} at Antioch there were prophets and teachers {didaskaloi}: Barnabas (son of encouragement), Simeon called Niger, Lucius (light) of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod (heroic) the tetrarch), and Saul (asked for). 2 While they were worshiping the Lord {Kyriō} and fasting, the Holy Spirit {Hagion Pneuma} said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas (son of encouragement) and Saul (asked for) for the work to which I have called them. 3 And after they had fasted and prayed, they laid their hands on them and sent them off. 4 So Barnabas and Saul, sent forth by the Holy Spirit {Hagiou Pneumatos}, went down to Seleucia and sailed from there to Cyprus. 5 When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God {Theou} in the Jewish synagogues. And John (YHWH is gracious) was with them as their helper. 6 They traveled through the whole island as far as Paphos, where they found a Jewish sorcerer and false prophet named Bar-Jesus, Acts 13:1-6, Berean Annotated Bible.
