1 And this is the commandment, the statutes, and the ordinances that YHWH your⁺ God has commanded to teach you⁺ to do in the land that you⁺ are passing over there to possess, 2 so that you may fear YHWH your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments, which I am commanding you—you and your son and the son of your son—all the days of your life, that your days may be prolonged. 3 Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to do it, that it may be well with you and that you⁺ may multiply greatly, as YHWH, God of your fathers, has promised you, in a land flowing with milk and honey. 4 Hear, O Israel: YHWH our God, YHWH is One. 5 And you shall love YHWH your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
