18 For wickedness burns as the fire, and it will devour brier and thorn; and it is kindled in the thickets of the forest, and they mount up in a rising of smoke. 19 By the wrath of YHWH of hosts the land is scorched, and the people are fuel for the fire; a man has no pity upon his brother. 20 And one cuts down on the right, and is hungry, and he eats on the left, and they have not been satisfied; each man devours the flesh of his own arm. 21 Manasseh Ephraim, and Ephraim Manasseh—together they are against Judah. In all this His anger has not turned back, and still His hand is stretched out. Isaiah 9:18-21, Berean Literal Bible. Public domain.
