53 From that day, therefore, they took counsel, that they might put Him to death.

54 Jesus, therefore, was no longer openly walking about among the Jews; but He went away thence into the country near to the wilderness, to a city called Ephraim, and there He abode with the disciples.

55 Now the passover of the Jews was near; and many went up to Jerusalem out of the country before the passover, that they might purify themselves.

56 They were, therefore, seeking for Jesus, and were saying one with another, while standing in the temple, "What think ye? That He will not come to the feast?"

57 Now the high priests and the Pharisees had given orders, that, if any one knew where He was, he should show it , that they might seize Him.
