39 Because of this, they were not able to believe, because again Isaiah said: 40 “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, so that they might not see with the eyes, and understand with the heart, and turn, and I will heal them.” 41 Isaiah said these things because he saw His glory and spoke about Him. 42 Nevertheless, indeed many of the rulers also believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing, so that they might not be put out of the synagogue; 43 for they loved the glory of men more than the glory of God. 44 And Jesus cried out and said, “The one believing in Me does not believe in Me but in the One having sent Me. 45 And the one beholding Me beholds the One having sent Me. 46 I have come into the world as a light, so that everyone believing in Me should not remain in the darkness. 47 And if anyone might hear My words and not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come so that I might judge the world, but so that I might save the world. 48 The one rejecting Me and not receiving My words has one judging him: The word that I spoke, which will judge him in the last day. 49 For I did not speak from Myself, but the Father Himself, having sent Me, has given Me a commandment, what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that His commandment is eternal life. Therefore what I speak, just as the Father has said to Me, so I speak.” John 12:39-50, Berean Literal Bible. Public domain.
