33 then they came to Jesus, and finding that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. 34 but one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and immediately blood and water issued out. 35 he that relates this, was an eye-witness of it, and his relation is true: and he is so assured, what he says is true, that you may rely upon it. 36 for these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, "a bone of him shall not be broken." 37 and again the scripture saith elsewhere, "they shall look on him whom they pierced."
