38 And after these things, Joseph from Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus (but concealed because of the fear of the Jews) asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave permission. Therefore he came and took away His body.

39 And Nicodemus, the one having come to Him by night at the first, also came bearing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred litras.

40 Therefore they took the body of Jesus and bound it in linen cloths with the spices, as is the custom among the Jews to prepare for burial.
