12 Jesus says to them, “Come, have breakfast.” But none of the disciples dared to ask Him, “Who are You?” knowing that it is the Lord. 13 Jesus comes and takes the bread and gives it to them, and the fish likewise. 14 This was now the third time Jesus was revealed to the disciples, having been raised out from the dead. 15 Therefore when they had dined, Jesus says to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He says to Him, “Yes, Lord, You know that I dearly love You.” He says to him, “Feed My lambs.” 16 He says to him again a second time, “Simon son of John, do you love Me?” He says to Him, “Yes, Lord, You know that I dearly love You.” He says to him, “Shepherd My sheep.” 17 He says to him the third time, “Simon son of John, do you dearly love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you dearly love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I dearly love You.” Jesus says to him, “Feed My sheep. 18 Truly, truly, I say to you, when you were younger, you were girding yourself and were walking where you were wanting; but when you shall be old, you will stretch forth your hands, and another will gird you and will bring you where you do not want.” 19 Now He said this, signifying by what death he will glorify God. And having said this, He says to him, “Follow Me.” 20 Having turned, Peter sees the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also reclined on His bosom at the supper and said, “Lord, who is it who is delivering You up?” 21 Therefore, having seen him, Peter says to Jesus, “Lord, and what about this one?” 22 Jesus says to him, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is it to you? You follow Me!” 23 Therefore this saying went out among the brothers that this disciple does not die. But Jesus did not say to him that he does not die, but, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is it to you?” 24 This is the disciple testifying concerning these things, and the one having written these things. And we know that his testimony is true. 25 Now there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if every one should be written, I suppose not even the world itself will have space for the books being written.
