14 Now it was a Sabbath—the day on which Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes. 15 Again, therefore, the Pharisees also were asking him how he received sight. And he said to them, “He put clay on my eyes, and I washed, and I see.” 16 Therefore some of the Pharisees were saying, “This man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath.” But others were saying, “How is a man, a sinner, able to do such signs?” And there was division among them. 17 Therefore they say to the blind man again, “What do you say about Him, since He opened your eyes?” And he said, “He is a prophet.” 18 Therefore the Jews did not believe concerning him that he was blind and received sight, until they called the parents of him having received sight 19 and asked them, saying, “Is this your? son, of whom you? say that he was born blind? Then how does he now see?” 20 Therefore his parents answered and said, “We know that this is our son and that he was born blind. 21 But how he sees now, we do not know; or who opened his eyes, we do not know. Ask him. He has age. He will speak concerning himself.” 22 His parents said these things because they were afraid of the Jews. For the Jews already had agreed together that if anyone should confess Him as Christ, he would be expelled from the synagogue. 23 Because of this, his parents said, “He has age. Ask him.” 24 Therefore they called out a second time the man who was blind, and they said to him, “Give glory to God! We know that this man is a sinner.” 25 Therefore he answered, “Whether He is a sinner I do not know. One thing I know, that being blind, now I see!” 26 Therefore they said to him, “What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?” 27 He answered them, “I told you? already, and you? did not hear. Why do you? want to hear again? Do you? also want to become His disciples?” 28 And they reviled him and said, “You are a disciple of that One, but we are disciples of Moses. 29 We know that God has spoken to Moses, but we do not know from where this man is.” 30 The man answered and said to them, “In this, indeed, is an amazing thing, that you? do not know from where He is, and yet He opened my eyes. 31 We know that God does not hear sinners, but if anyone may be God-fearing and may do His will, He hears him. 32 From the age it was not heard that anyone opened the eyes of one having been born blind. 33 If this man were not from God, He would be able to do nothing.” 34 They answered and said to him, “You were born entirely in sins, and do you teach us?” And they cast him out. 35 Jesus heard that they cast him out, and having found him, He said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” 36 He answered and said, “And who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?” 37 Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him, and He is the One speaking with you.” 38 And he was saying, “I believe, Lord.” And he worshiped Him. 39 And Jesus said, “For judgment I came into this world, so that those not seeing may see and those seeing may become blind.” 40 Some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things, and they said to Him, “Are we also blind?” 41 Jesus said to them, “If you? were blind, you? would not have sin. But now that you? say, ‘We see,’ your? sin remains.” John 9:14-41, Berean Literal Bible. Public domain.
