33 But a certain Samaritan, journeying, came to him, and having seen, he was moved with compassion; 34 and having come, he bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and having put him on his own beast, he brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 And on the next day, having taken out two denarii, he gave them to the innkeeper and said, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you might expend, I, in my returning, will repay you.’ 36 Which of these three seems to you to have been a neighbor of the one having fallen among the robbers?” 37 And he said, “The one having done the mercy toward him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go, and you do likewise.” 38 Now in their going, He entered into a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha received Him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also, having sat down at the feet of the Lord, was hearing His word. 40 But Martha was distracted about much service; and having stood, she said, “Lord, is it not concerning to You that my sister left me alone to serve? Therefore speak to her so that she might help me!” 41 And answering, the Lord said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; 42 but little is necessary, or one thing; for Mary chose the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:33-42, Berean Literal Bible.
