3 Iesus aunswered, & sayde vnto them: I also wyll aske you one thyng, & aunswere me. 4 The baptisme of Iohn, was it from heauen, or of men? 5 And they reasoned within the selues, saying, Yf we say from heauen, he wyll say, why then beleued ye hym not? 6 But and yf we say of men, all the people wyll stone vs: For they be perswaded that Iohn is a prophete. 7 And they aunswered, that they coulde not tell whence it was. 8 And Iesus saide vnto them: Neither tell I you by what aucthoritie I do these thynges.
