And they come to Jericho. And in His going out from Jericho—and His disciples and a large crowd—the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting beside the road.

And having heard that it is Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and to say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

And many were rebuking him that he should be silent. But much more he was crying out, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

And having stood, Jesus said, “Call him.” And they call the blind man, saying to him, “Take courage! Rise up! He calls you.”

And having cast away his cloak, having leaped up, he came to Jesus.

And answering him, Jesus says, “What do you desire that I may do for you?” And the blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive sight.”

“And” Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has saved you.” And immediately he received his sight, and he was following Him on the road.
