1 And He having entered again into Capernaum after some days, it was heard that He is in the house. 2 And many were gathered together, so as to have no more space, not even at the door. And He was speaking the word to them. 3 And they come, bringing to Him a paralytic, being carried by four. 4 And not being able to bring him to Him through the crowd, they unroofed the roof where He was, and having dug it out, they let down the mat on which the paralytic was lying. 5 And Jesus, having seen their faith, says to the paralytic, “Child, your sins are forgiven.” 6 But there were some of the scribes sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, 7 “Why does this man speak thus? He blasphemes! Who is able to forgive sins except One—God?” 8 And immediately Jesus, having known in His spirit that they are reasoning thus in themselves, says to them, “Why do you? reason these things in your? hearts?
