18 And YHWH said to Moses, “Take with you Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom is the Spirit, and lay your hand on him. 19 And you shall stand him before the face of Eleazar the priest and before the face of all the congregation, and you shall command him in their eyes. 20 And you shall put some of your authority on him, that all the congregation of the sons of Israel may be obedient. 21 And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, and he shall inquire for him by the judgment of the Urim before the face of YHWH. At his word they shall go out, and at his word they shall come in—he and all the sons of Israel with him—and all the congregation.” 22 And Moses did as YHWH had commanded him, and He took Joshua and set him before the face of Eleazar the priest and before the face of all the congregation. 23 And he laid his hands on him and commissioned him, as YHWH had spoken by the hand of Moses.
