1 Therefore, since we have been justified (rendered innocent) through faith, we have (let us have) peace with God {Theon} through our Lord {Kyriou} Jesus (YHWH saves) Christ (the Anointed One), 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we stand. And we rejoice (exult) in the hope of the glory {doxēs} of God {Theou}. 3 Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance (endurance); 4 perseverance (endurance), character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not disappoint us, because God {Theou} has poured out His love {agapē} into our hearts through the Holy Spirit {Hagiou Pneumatos}, whom He has given us. 6 For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ (the Anointed One) died for the ungodly. 7 Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. 8 But God {Theos} proves His love {agapēn} for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ (the Anointed One) died for us.
