Apply God's faithfulness daily?
How can we apply the faithfulness of God in our daily decisions?

The Setting

2 Chronicles 6 records Solomon’s dedication of the temple. Standing before Israel, he looks back on God’s promise to David and says,

“ ‘Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who with His hands has fulfilled what He spoke with His mouth to my father David, saying,’ ” (2 Chronicles 6:4).

• Every syllable God spoke, He performed “with His hands.” Promise and performance match perfectly—an unbroken record of faithfulness.

What God’s Faithfulness Means for Us

• God’s words never fail (Numbers 23:19).

• His mercies are “new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22-23).

• Every promise finds its “Yes” in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20).

These truths are not distant theology; they shape every decision we face today.

Bringing Faithfulness into Daily Decisions

1. Remember His track record

– Pause before a choice and rehearse how God has kept past promises, just as Solomon did.

Psalm 103:2 urges, “forget not all His benefits.”

2. Weigh options against His unchanging Word

– Because Scripture is reliable, align plans with clear commands (Psalm 119:105).

– If an option contradicts the Word, His faithfulness has already ruled it out.

3. Trust His timing

– Solomon waited years to see the promise fulfilled. Delay is not denial (Habakkuk 2:3).

– Refuse shortcuts that bypass God’s process.

4. Pray with confidence

1 John 5:14-15: we can ask according to His will, knowing He hears.

– Faithfulness turns prayer from wish-casting into certainty.

5. Act boldly

– Joshua could “be strong and courageous” because “the LORD your God is with you” (Joshua 1:9).

– Step forward, expecting God to supply what obedience requires.

Everyday Checklist

Before deciding, run through:

☐ Does this line up with Scripture?

☐ Am I recalling specific ways God has kept His word before?

☐ Have I prayed, trusting His faithful character?

☐ Am I willing to wait for His timing?

☐ Can I move ahead confidently, knowing He will not abandon me?
