Apply queen's truth to spirituality?
How can we apply the queen's pursuit of truth to our spiritual journey?

The Scene — 1 Kings 10:2

“So she came to Jerusalem with a very large entourage, with camels bearing spices, gold in great abundance, and precious stones. She came to Solomon and spoke with him about everything that was on her heart.”

What We Learn from the Queen’s Search

• She traveled far, spending time, energy, and resources—truth was worth any cost.

• She brought honest, weighty questions—no pretense, no hiding.

• She expected real answers—confidence that wisdom exists and can be known.

• She validated what she heard by firsthand encounter—she refused second-hand religion.

Cross-light from other passages:

Proverbs 2:3-5 — seeking wisdom “as for hidden treasures” brings understanding of the fear of the LORD.

Jeremiah 29:13 — “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”

Acts 17:11 — Bereans “examined the Scriptures daily to see if these teachings were true.”

Practical Ways to Reflect Her Pursuit

1. Make room in the schedule for Scripture exploration.

• Set a daily, defended time block.

Psalm 119:148 — “my eyes anticipate the night watches, that I may meditate on Your word.”

2. Bring every question to the King.

• Write them down while reading; then search passages, concordances, solid commentaries.

James 1:5 — ask God for wisdom “who gives generously…without reproach.”

3. Invest tangible resources.

• Good study Bible, notebooks, and trustworthy books.

• Attend gatherings where the Word is faithfully taught (Hebrews 10:25).

4. Pursue firsthand confirmation.

• Read the text before forming conclusions.

• Test every teaching against Scripture (1 John 4:1).

5. Respond with obedience once truth is confirmed.

John 13:17 — “If you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”

Guarding Our Pursuit with Scripture

• Jesus is the ultimate “greater than Solomon” (Matthew 12:42). Come to Him, not merely information.

John 14:6 — Truth is personal in Christ; relationship directs research.

Psalm 119:160 — “The entirety of Your word is truth.” Let the full counsel of God shape conclusions.

Colossians 2:8 — beware philosophies “not according to Christ.” Measure ideas by the Word.

Living the Ongoing Adventure of Truth

• Keep a running testimony journal—record questions, discoveries, and answered prayers.

• Celebrate progress; like the queen, give praise when God’s wisdom proves greater than rumors (1 Kings 10:6-9).

• Stay curious: Matthew 7:7 — “Ask…seek…knock.” The verbs are present-tense—never stop.

• Share discoveries; her visit blessed Israel, and our insights can strengthen Christ’s body (Ephesians 4:15-16).
