How can we help "the least of these"?
In what ways can we serve "the least of these" today?

Main Verse

Matthew 25:40 – “And the King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’”

Setting the Scene

• Jesus speaks of His future judgment, separating sheep and goats (vv. 31-46).

• Acts of compassion—food, drink, welcome, clothing, care, visitation—are treated as service rendered directly to Christ.

• The passage is not a parable; it is a prophetic description of an actual event still to come.

Who Are “the Least of These”?

• The hungry

• The thirsty

• Strangers needing welcome

• The unclothed

• The sick

• Prisoners

• Any person the world overlooks, including orphans, widows, unborn children, refugees, the elderly, and persecuted believers (cf. James 1:27; Hebrews 13:3).

Why Our Service Matters

• Jesus personally identifies with the needy (Matthew 25:40).

• Serving them expresses genuine faith (James 2:15-17).

• God rewards even small acts of kindness (Proverbs 19:17; Galatians 6:9-10).
