How can we reflect God's image today?
In what ways can we reflect God's image in our actions today?

A Fresh Wardrobe of Christ-like Living

“Put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.” (Colossians 3:10)

We bear God’s image by trading our old, sin-stained garments for the “new self.” Scripture treats this exchange as literal, practical, daily. Here’s how that looks in action:

• Keep saying “yes” to ongoing renewal. The verb “is being renewed” is continuous. Every prayerful moment in the Word and every Spirit-led choice reshapes us.

• Grow in “knowledge.” Knowing Christ personally (Philippians 3:8-10) informs every behavior—because what fills the mind spills into the hands.

Traits That Mirror the Creator

Ephesians 4:24 calls this new self “created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” We reflect Him when we:

• Walk in truth. God “cannot lie” (Titus 1:2). Speak honestly, keep promises, reject gossip.

• Practice righteousness. “Little children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” (1 John 3:18) Tangible care for others shows His heart.

• Radiate holiness. Set apart time, talk, media, and motives that honor Him (1 Peter 1:15-16).

Fruit That Carries the Family Resemblance

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22-23) Each quality turns an invisible likeness into visible conduct. Cultivate them by:

1. Starting the day surrendered—invite the Spirit to rule.

2. Spotting real-life opportunities: a tense meeting (patience), an anxious friend (peace), a frustrating child (gentleness).

3. Celebrating progress; fruit grows gradually (James 5:7).

Creative Stewardship of God’s World

Genesis 1:26-28 links God’s image to ruling creation. Reflect Him by:

• Valuing life—from the unborn to the aging.

• Working with excellence; your job becomes a canvas for His order and beauty.

• Caring for earth and resources; responsible dominion honors the Owner (Psalm 24:1).

Relational Love that Echoes the Trinity

Father, Son, and Spirit enjoy perfect fellowship. We mirror that unity when we:

• Forgive quickly (Colossians 3:13).

• Seek reconciliation; refuse bitter divisions (Matthew 5:23-24).

• Serve one another’s needs (John 13:14-15).

Justice, Mercy, and Humility in Public Life

“He has shown you, O man, what is good… to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8) Image-bearers:

• Defend the powerless and unborn (Proverbs 31:8-9).

• Show mercy to the fallen—restoring, not crushing (Galatians 6:1-2).

• Hold authority with humility, knowing ultimate power is God’s (Romans 13:1-4).

End Goal: Conformed to Christ

“For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son.” (Romans 8:29) Every surrender, every Christ-like action bends us toward that certain destiny—until, one day, we will “see Him as He is” (1 John 3:2) and the image will shine without distortion.

How does Colossians 3:10 connect with Ephesians 4:24 about the new self?
