How can we stay faithful today?
In what ways can we avoid being "children with no faithfulness" today?

Setting the Scene

Deuteronomy 32:20: “I will hide My face from them,” He said, “and see what their end will be; for they are a perverse generation—children in whom there is no faithfulness.”

Israel’s unfaithfulness brought distance from God. Today, the same danger lurks whenever hearts drift from steady trust and obedience.

What “Children with No Faithfulness” Looks Like

• Inconsistent trust—believing when life is easy, doubting when trials hit

• Selective obedience—picking commands we like, ignoring the rest

• Spiritual amnesia—forgetting God’s past works and replacing Him with modern idols (Jeremiah 2:13)

Ground Rules for Remaining Faithful

Stoke Your Faith Daily

• Immerse in Scripture: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).

• Meditate and memorize so truth is ready when doubts whisper (Psalm 119:11).

Turn Hearing into Doing

• “Be doers of the word, and not hearers only” (James 1:22).

• Obedience cements faith; disobedience erodes it.

Guard the Heart from Modern Idols

• Success, comfort, entertainment, relationships—good things can dethrone God.

• “Little children, keep yourselves from idols” (1 John 5:21).

Remember and Rehearse God’s Deeds

• Write answered prayers, share testimonies, celebrate communion.

• “Forget not all His benefits” (Psalm 103:2).

Stay in Covenant Community

• Meet regularly: “Let us not neglect meeting together… but encourage one another” (Hebrews 10:25).

• Iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17).

Walk by the Spirit, Not the Flesh

• “Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16).

• Pursue the Spirit’s fruit—love, joy, peace… (Galatians 5:22-23).

Teach the Next Generation

• “Impress them on your children” (Deuteronomy 6:7).

• Faithfulness multiplies when passed on deliberately.

Persevere Through Trials

• Trials refine: “The testing of your faith produces perseverance” (James 1:3).

• Choose trust over complaint; God uses hardship to deepen roots.

Keep Short Accounts with God

• Quick repentance keeps fellowship warm: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive” (1 John 1:9).

Focus on Christlike Character

• “Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility” (Colossians 3:12).

• Character reflects steady allegiance more loudly than words.

Living It Out

Faithfulness is not a momentary burst but a lifelong rhythm: listening, obeying, remembering, and depending. By these habits, we avoid the tragic label of “children with no faithfulness” and instead hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23).
