How is God's glory present today?
How can we see God's glory dwelling in our land today?

Psalm 85:9: God’s Nearness, Our Invitation

“Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land.”

• “Salvation is near” – the Lord stands ready to rescue, restore, and revive.

• “To those who fear Him” – reverent awe, humble obedience, and wholehearted loyalty open the door.

• “That glory may dwell” – not a passing glimpse but a settled presence: the same radiant reality Moses longed for (Exodus 33:18) and the Word revealed in flesh (John 1:14).

How God’s Glory Dwells among Us Today

1. He takes residence in redeemed people

John 14:23 “ …We will come to him and make Our home with him.”

– When hearts bow in repentance and faith, His glory moves in.

– Personal holiness, Spirit-led character, and joyful witness become visible markers.

2. He fills gatherings that exalt Christ

Psalm 22:3 “Yet You are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.”

Acts 2 shows a praying, unified church ignited by the Spirit; the same pattern brings fresh outpouring now.

– Christ-centered worship, Scripture-saturated teaching, and loving unity create a dwelling place for glory (Ephesians 2:21-22).

3. He transforms communities through righteousness and peace

Psalm 85:10 “Loving devotion and faithfulness have joined together; righteousness and peace have kissed.”

– When believers live justly, love mercy, and walk humbly (Micah 6:8), neighborhoods taste heaven’s values.

– Public integrity, compassionate outreach, and courageous advocacy for truth manifest His splendor.

4. He empowers good works that shine light

Matthew 5:16 “Let your light shine before men… that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

– Feeding the hungry, caring for the unborn, strengthening marriages, mentoring youth—every act done in Jesus’ name carries glory into the streets.

5. He answers repentant prayer for national awakening

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If My people who are called by My name humble themselves… I will hear from heaven… and heal their land.”

– Corporate repentance breaks spiritual drought; renewed fear of the Lord invites His manifest presence.

Practical Pathways to Welcome His Glory

• Cultivate reverent fear: daily awe of God’s holiness, authority, and love.

• Seek continual cleansing: swift confession keeps fellowship unbroken (1 John 1:9).

• Prize Scripture: let truth dwell richly, directing every decision (Colossians 3:16).

• Pursue Spirit-filled obedience: follow promptings to serve, give, and testify.

• Champion unity: forgive quickly, honor others, guard against division (Psalm 133:1).

• Persevere in prayer: intercede for family, church, and nation until earth mirrors heaven’s glory (Habakkuk 2:14).

The Promised Outcome

As salvation stays “near” and reverent hearts stay surrendered, the Lord gladly plants His glory in the midst of our land—shining through changed lives, revived congregations, and renewed communities until “we all… are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
