How to live as "chosen" daily?
In what ways can we live as "chosen" in our daily interactions?

Recognizing Our Identity as "Chosen"

1 Peter 1:1 opens with, “Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ” and greets “the elect exiles of the Dispersion…”.

• We carry the same title—elect—chosen by God’s grace.

• This identity is not earned; it is a gift that shapes every interaction.

Living as Pilgrims, Not Permanent Residents

• “To the elect exiles…” reminds us we are temporary residents on earth.

• Keep earthly success in perspective; aim first for eternal fruit (Colossians 3:2).

• Make decisions—how you spend money, time, and words—with heaven’s values in view.

Reflecting God’s Character in Conversation

• A chosen people speak differently:

– Use words that build up (Ephesians 4:29).

– Refuse gossip; instead, “speak the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15).

– Offer encouragement generously, especially to those overlooked.

A Lifestyle of Holiness

• “He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, to be holy…” (Ephesians 1:4).

• Guard eyes and mind—what you watch, read, and scroll shapes your soul.

• Practice daily repentance; quick confession keeps fellowship with God and others clear.

Serving in Everyday Scenes

• Jesus washed feet; chosen people serve:

– Volunteer for unseen tasks at work or church.

– Notice needs—carry groceries, babysit for a tired mom, visit a shut-in.

– Let service be spontaneous, not staged for credit (Matthew 6:3-4).

Honoring Authority

• Peter later urges, “Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor” (1 Peter 2:17).

• Show respect to supervisors, teachers, police, and government—even when disagreeing.

• Pray for leaders; speak of them with measured, gracious words.

Steadfast Hope under Pressure

• Chosen people expect trials (1 Peter 4:12).

• Respond with calm trust, remembering Christ’s suffering purchased victory.

• Share testimonies of God’s faithfulness; hope is contagious.

Love that Sets Us Apart

• “But you are a chosen race…that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him” (1 Peter 2:9).

• Proclaim through tangible love:

– Listen attentively; put the phone down.

– Forgive quickly; extend mercy as recipients of greater mercy.

– Include outsiders at your table; hospitality preaches louder than slogans.

Encouragement to Persevere

• Your status as "chosen" is secure; live like it with courage and joy.

• Each act of Christ-centered kindness whispers to the world, “Grace chose me, and grace can choose you too.”
