How to live holiness daily?
How can we apply the concept of holiness in our daily lives today?

Setting the Scene

“ The remainder of the grain offering belongs to Aaron and his sons; it is a most holy part of the food offerings to the LORD.” (Leviticus 2:3)

The grain offering was simple—flour, oil, frankincense—yet God called even the leftovers “most holy.” Holiness, then, isn’t just about spectacular moments. It’s about ordinary things treated as belonging entirely to Him.

What Holiness Means

• Set apart for God’s exclusive use

• Reflecting His character in every sphere of life

• Carried out both privately and publicly—nothing hidden

Daily Expressions of Holiness

1. Mind and motives

Philippians 4:8 urges us to dwell on what is “true… honorable… pure.”

• Start the day asking: “What thoughts need to be set apart for God today?”

2. Words

Ephesians 4:29: “Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building up…”

• Speak blessing into conversations—texts, meetings, family meals.

3. Time

Psalm 90:12: “Teach us to number our days.”

• Schedule margins for worship, Scripture, rest, and unhurried acts of kindness.

4. Finances

Proverbs 3:9: “Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits…”

• Budget with generosity at the top, not the leftovers.

5. Relationships

Hebrews 12:14: “Pursue peace with everyone, as well as holiness…”

• Forgive quickly; practice honesty; say the hard truth in love.

6. Work ethic

Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…”

• Excellence and integrity are everyday offerings.

Guarding the Inner Altar

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 reminds us we are God’s temple.

• Regular confession keeps the altar clean.

• Replace hidden sin with hidden worship—hum melodies of praise, memorize verses on your commute, whisper thanks while folding laundry.

Holiness in Worship

Romans 12:1: “Offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God.”

• Sunday worship overflows into Monday obedience—singing lips and serving hands belong together.

Encouragement from the New Testament

1 Peter 1:15-16 quotes Leviticus: “Be holy, because I am holy.”

• Christ’s blood secures our position; the Spirit empowers our practice.

• When we stumble, 1 John 1:9 assures cleansing so we can rise and keep walking set apart.

Living the Grain Offering Today

Just as priests treated leftover flour as “most holy,” treat routine moments as sacred space:

• The commute becomes a sanctuary of prayer.

• Lunch breaks turn into mini-Sabbaths of Scripture meditation.

• A text of encouragement becomes incense before God.

Holiness is not an occasional spiritual event; it’s the aroma of a life wholly given to the Lord—ordinary flour infused with His oil, lifted up for His pleasure every single day.
