How to prepare for God's plan?
What actions should we take in anticipation of God's fulfillment of His plan?

Setting the Scene

John sees a mighty angel “and he swore by Him who lives forever and ever… ‘There will be no more delay!’ ” (Revelation 10:6). The oath signals that God’s redemptive timeline is reaching its appointed climax. Because the moment of fulfillment is fixed and imminent, believers are called to live accordingly.

Key Truth: “No More Delay”

• God’s plan is unstoppable (Isaiah 46:10).

• His timing is precise (Galatians 4:4).

• The certainty of fulfillment demands present-tense obedience.

Actions Flowing from the Certainty of God’s Plan

Live alertly

• “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day on which your Lord will come” (Matthew 24:42).

• Refuse spiritual drowsiness; cultivate daily expectancy.

Pursue holiness

• “But just as He who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do” (1 Peter 1:15-16).

• Confession and repentance keep the heart ready for Christ’s appearing (1 John 3:2-3).

Redeem the time

• “Be careful how you walk… redeeming the time, because the days are evil” (Ephesians 5:15-16).

• Set godly priorities; eliminate distractions that dull zeal.

Proclaim the gospel

• “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2).

• A closing window urges bold witness (Matthew 24:14).

Encourage the saints

• “Let us consider how to spur one another on to love and good deeds… and all the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:24-25).

• Fellowship fortifies perseverance.

Hold fast to Scripture

• “All Scripture is God-breathed… so that the man of God may be complete” (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

• The Word anchors faith when the world shakes (Psalm 119:105).

Resist compromise

• Letters to the seven churches (Revelation 2–3) warn against lukewarmness.

• Stand firm against cultural pressure; obey Christ rather than men (Acts 5:29).

Worship with reverence

• “Since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us be filled with gratitude, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe” (Hebrews 12:28).

• Adoration keeps perspective and fuels endurance.

Standing Firm in Assurance

“There will be no more delay” assures us that history is headed toward God’s ordained finale. As Romans 13:11 reminds, “Our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.” The call is clear: live awake, pure, purposeful, and unashamed, confident that the One who promised is faithful and will soon complete His plan.

How can we live faithfully knowing God's timing is perfect, as in Revelation 10:6?
