In what ways can we prepare for the fulfillment of Isaiah 62:11 today? Seeing the Promise Clearly “Behold, the LORD has proclaimed to the ends of the earth, ‘Say to the Daughter of Zion, “See, your Savior comes! Look, His reward is with Him, and His recompense goes before Him.”’ ” (Isaiah 62:11) The verse speaks quite literally of the Messiah’s public arrival with reward in hand. Believing that Scripture means what it says, we prepare for the very real day when Jesus openly reigns over Israel and the nations. Lift Up Your Eyes to the Returning Savior • Keep the promise front-and-center. Revelation 22:12 echoes Isaiah 62:11 word for word: “Behold, I am coming soon, and My reward is with Me…” • Fix your hope there. 1 Peter 1:13 urges, “Set your hope fully on the grace to be given you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” • Start each day reminding yourself, “My King could come today.” That outlook changes choices, attitudes, and conversations. Cultivate Personal Holiness • 1 John 3:2-3: “Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as Christ is pure.” • Evaluate habits, media, language, spending—whatever dulls spiritual alertness, lay it aside. • Replace compromise with obedience in the everyday: honesty at work, sexual purity, humble speech at home. Persevere in Watchful Prayer • Luke 12:35-36: “Be dressed for service and keep your lamps burning.” Prayer keeps the lamps lit. • Build regular times of adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and intercession. • Fast occasionally to sharpen longing for His appearing (Matthew 9:15). Proclaim the Coming King • Isaiah 62:11 is a proclamation “to the ends of the earth.” We echo it through: – Personal testimony—share how Christ saves and satisfies. – Supporting global missions—prayer, giving, and going. – Local evangelism—neighborly conversations, community outreach, online witness. • Matthew 28:19-20 remains the Church’s marching orders until He comes. Serve in Love and Compassion • James 1:27 links pure religion with caring for the vulnerable. • Acts of mercy embody the coming kingdom’s character and make the gospel visible. • Volunteer at crisis-pregnancy centers, foster children, feed the hungry, visit the lonely. Good works are not mere niceties; Ephesians 2:10 calls them what we were “created in Christ Jesus to do.” Guard Sound Doctrine • Isaiah’s announcement highlights “your Savior.” People must meet the true, biblical Jesus. • Measure every teaching by the written Word, holding fast to the inerrant Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:16-17). • Equip yourself through faithful preaching, small-group study, and personal reading. Error always dulls eagerness for Christ’s return. Gather and Encourage One Another • Hebrews 10:24-25: “And let us consider how to spur one another on to love and good deeds… all the more as you see the Day approaching.” • Prioritize weekly worship, mid-week study, and informal fellowship. • Speak hope to weary saints: “The Lord’s reward is almost here!” Invest in Eternal Priorities • Resources of time, talent, and treasure can fuel either temporary or eternal outcomes. • Simplify lifestyle so more can flow to kingdom work. • Mentor younger believers, train children, disciple new converts—people last forever. Live Joyfully in Expectant Hope • 2 Peter 3:11-12 links holiness with “anticipating and hastening” the Day. • Joy announces to the watching world that the future is bright for those in Christ. • Worship with glad songs that celebrate His reign, let laughter fill your home, and greet each morning, “Maybe today!” The Daughter of Zion will soon hear the shout, “Your Savior comes!” Until that moment, these practices keep hearts burning, hands busy, and eyes lifted for the King who always keeps His Word. |
