What steps can we take to remember God's deliverance in our lives? Walking Between Walls of Water “ But the Israelites walked through the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on their right and on their left.” (Exodus 14:29) Why Remember? • Deliverance forgotten soon becomes deliverance doubted. • God commands His people not to forget—because forgetfulness breeds fear and disobedience (Deuteronomy 6:12). Recognize the Deliverance • Pause and name what He has done—big or small. • Let every “Red Sea moment” become a marker of His mercy (Psalm 77:11). Write It Down • Keep a deliverance journal. Date it, describe it, thank Him in ink. • Habakkuk 2:2 reminds us that a written vision can “run” ahead to future generations. Build Tangible Reminders • Set up modern “Ebenezers” like Samuel’s stone (1 Samuel 7:12). – A framed verse. – A photo or object tied to the rescue. • Joshua 4:6-7 shows how twelve stones preached to children yet unborn. Tell the Story Regularly • Share testimonies at the dinner table, in small groups, with friends walking through the same sea. • Psalm 145:4: “One generation will declare Your works to the next.” Celebrate with Worship • Mark anniversaries of rescue with song, communion, or a special meal—echoing Israel’s Song of Moses (Exodus 15) and our Lord’s “Do this in remembrance of Me” (Luke 22:19). Live in Obedience • True remembrance shows up in surrendered living (John 14:15). • Each step of obedience is a thank-you note written with your life. Trust for Future Deliverances • Yesterday’s parted sea fuels tomorrow’s faith. • 2 Corinthians 1:10: “He has delivered us... He will deliver us again.” Take these steps, and every memory of God’s rescue will keep your heart anchored when the next wave rises. |
