How to seek God's help daily?
In what ways can we actively seek God's help in daily challenges?

Psalm 70:5 At a Glance

“But I am poor and needy; hurry to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD, do not delay.”

Recognize Our Need

• David owns his poverty and neediness.

• Admitting weakness is the doorway through which divine strength walks in (cf. 2 Corinthians 12:9).

Call Out Continually

• “Hurry to me, O God” models urgent, honest prayer.

• Scripture invites this bold approach: “Therefore let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)

Trust His Identity—Helper and Deliverer

• God’s character is unchanging: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)

• Because He is helper and deliverer by nature, we seek Him with assurance rather than doubt (James 1:5-6).

Wait for His Timing—Even as You Ask for Speed

• David pleads, “do not delay,” yet he still waits in faith.

• Holding urgency and patience together honors God’s sovereignty (Psalm 27:14).

Daily Practices to Seek His Help

• Begin each morning surrendering the day’s agenda in prayer (Psalm 5:3).

• Memorize and speak promises aloud when pressure rises (Matthew 4:4).

• Launch “arrow prayers” throughout the day—brief, heartfelt cries like David’s.

• Lean on godly friends for intercession and counsel (Galatians 6:2).

• Praise before the answer arrives; praise shifts focus from problem to Provider (Psalm 34:1).

• Obey promptly; obedience keeps the communication line clear (John 15:7-10).

• Record God’s past rescues; yesterday’s deliverance fuels today’s confidence (1 Samuel 7:12).

Encouragement from Other Scriptures

• “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” (Philippians 4:6)

• “Cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)

• “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

• “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.” (Psalm 121:1-2)

• “The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears; He delivers them from all their troubles.” (Psalm 34:17)

Each verse reinforces the same invitation Psalm 70:5 extends: acknowledge need, cry out boldly, trust His character, and expect timely help in every daily challenge.

How does Psalm 70:5 connect with Philippians 4:6-7 about seeking God's help?
