Text for Today

Psalm 73:11: “The wicked say, ‘How can God know? Does the Most High have knowledge?’”

Proverbs 15:3: “The eyes of the LORD are in every place, observing the evil and the good.”

What the Wicked Assume (Psalm 73:11)

• Arrogant voices question God’s awareness.

• They equate His silence with ignorance.

• Their skepticism springs from a heart unmoved by reverence (cf. Psalm 10:4).

What God Declares (Proverbs 15:3)

• God’s “eyes” picture His constant, personal attention.

• “Every place” leaves no gaps—no secret corner escapes His gaze.

• He watches both “evil and good,” proving impartial, total surveillance.

Omnipresence: God Everywhere

Jeremiah 23:24—“‘Can a man hide in secret places where I cannot see him?’ declares the LORD.”

Psalm 139:7–10—David admits he cannot flee God’s Spirit or presence.

• God’s presence fills heaven and earth simultaneously without dilution.

Omniscience: God Knows Everything

Hebrews 4:13—“Nothing in all creation is hidden from His sight.”

1 John 3:20—“God is greater than our hearts, and He knows all things.”

• His knowledge is immediate, complete, and effortless—He never learns; He simply knows.

Putting It Together

Psalm 73 records Asaph’s struggle with the apparent prosperity of the wicked; verse 11 captures their taunt.

Proverbs 15:3 answers that taunt with divine certainty: the Lord observes continually.

• The wicked question; God replies through His Word, revealing a surveillance so perfect that judgment is inescapable and reward is guaranteed.

Living in the Light of His Eyes

• Comfort: His awareness means no righteous deed is overlooked (Matthew 6:4).

• Conviction: Hidden sins are exposed before they ever surface (Ecclesiastes 12:14).

• Confidence: When injustice seems rampant, remember His record is flawless; He will set all things right (Romans 2:6).

Additional Scriptures

2 Chronicles 16:9—“For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully devoted to Him.”

Job 34:21—“For His eyes are on the ways of a man, and He sees his every step.”

Revelation 2:23—Christ “searches mind and heart” before rewarding each according to works.

God’s omnipresence and omniscience stand unchallenged—every question in Psalm 73:11 meets its decisive answer in Proverbs 15:3, and the rest of Scripture echoes the same verdict: He sees, He knows, He acts.
