Other scriptures on firm faith foundation?
What other scriptures highlight the significance of a firm foundation in faith?

Firm footing in the wilderness

“Make forty silver bases to go under the twenty frames, two bases for each frame, one under each tenon.” – Exodus 26:19

Why the bases matter

• The entire Tabernacle rested on forty solid blocks of silver.

• Silver, often linked with redemption (cf. Numbers 3:47; 1 Peter 1:18-19), reminds us that bought-back people stand securely.

• The frames could sway in desert winds, but the bases kept every board straight, level, and unified—an Old-Testament picture of believers set firmly in saving grace.

Scriptures that echo the same theme

Psalm 18:2 – “The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer…”

Psalm 62:2 – “He alone is my rock and my salvation… I will never be shaken.”

Isaiah 28:16 – “See, I lay a stone in Zion… a sure foundation; the one who believes will never be in haste.”

Matthew 7:24-27 – The wise and foolish builders: storms reveal what was hidden in the soil.

Luke 6:47-49 – Digging deep until hitting rock ensures the house endures the flood.

1 Corinthians 3:11 – “For no one can lay a foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

Ephesians 2:20 – “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone.”

2 Timothy 2:19 – “God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: ‘The Lord knows those who are His…’”

Hebrews 6:19 – “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.”

Colossians 2:6-7 – “rooted and built up in Him, established in the faith…”

1 Peter 2:4-6 – Living stones anchored to the chosen Cornerstone who will never let His people be put to shame.

Connecting the dots

• Exodus frames + silver bases

 → God provides the support.

• Prophets and Psalms

→ God Himself is that support.

• Gospels

→ Christ’s words expose the kind of ground we build on.

• Epistles

→ Christ is declared the unshakeable, immovable foundation for the whole church and for each life.

Living it out

• Receive, not invent, your foundation—Christ has already been laid.

• Stay aligned with the Cornerstone; His lines keep the whole structure true.

• Let storms test the work; trials reveal the strength of what’s underneath.

• Keep adding “boards” (works, service, growth) only as they rest squarely on redemption’s silver bases—grace, truth, and obedience to the Word.

Standing on that bedrock, the tabernacle in the desert stood. So will every life planted on the same sure foundation.

How can we apply the concept of 'bases' to our faith journey today?
