Prepare for delivering God's message?
How can we prepare to deliver God's message despite potential rejection?

setting the scene

“ But you must speak My words to them, whether they listen or refuse to listen, for they are rebellious.” (Ezekiel 2:7)

God’s command to Ezekiel was straightforward: proclaim the message, regardless of the crowd’s reaction. The same call rests on every messenger today.

seeing the assignment clearly

• God, not people, defines the message.

• Faithfulness is measured by obedience, not audience response.

• Rejection is anticipated; shock is unnecessary.

anchoring our courage in God’s authority

Jeremiah 1:7-8 reminds, “Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you.”

Acts 4:19-20 shows apostles choosing God’s voice over human pressure.

• Remember: the One who sends us holds all authority (Matthew 28:18).

letting Scripture fortify the soul

• Daily intake of the Word sharpens conviction (2 Timothy 4:2).

• Memorize promises like Isaiah 55:11—God’s word “will not return […] empty.”

• Review biblical examples of faithful but unpopular prophets (Jeremiah, Amos, John the Baptist).

expecting resistance without losing heart

• Jesus warned, “If they persecuted Me, they will persecute you as well” (John 15:20).

• Opposition validates that we are on the narrow path, not that we have failed.

• Shake the dust off, then keep moving (Matthew 10:14).

speaking truth in grace and clarity

Practical habits:

- Start with Scripture, not opinion.

- Use plain language; avoid needless offense while never trimming truth.

- Maintain a gentle tone; firmness and kindness travel together.

- Keep the focus on Christ’s finished work, the hope every hearer needs.

leaning on the Spirit for boldness

• Pray for “divine utterance” so the gospel is made known boldly (Ephesians 6:19).

• Trust the Spirit to convict hearts; our task is delivery, His is transformation.

leaving the results to God

1 Corinthians 4:1-2 calls messengers “stewards… found faithful,” not successful by worldly metrics.

• God alone opens eyes and gathers the harvest; we plant and water.

• Rest in His sovereignty—every faithful word spoken fulfills His purpose.

summary steps

1. Accept the commission without conditions.

2. Stay saturated in Scripture.

3. Expect resistance, refuse discouragement.

4. Speak with grace and accuracy.

5. Depend on the Spirit for courage.

6. Entrust outcomes to the Lord.

God prepared Ezekiel, and He prepares us. Obey, speak, and let Him handle the rest.
