Preparing for Christ's rule end?
How can we prepare for when Christ "abolishes all rule and authority"?

Setting Our Hearts on the Coming Kingdom

“Then the end will come, when He hands over the kingdom to God the Father after He has abolished all rule and all authority and power.” (1 Corinthians 15:24)

Christ’s final act of victory will sweep away every earthly and demonic structure opposed to God. Preparing now means aligning our lives with the King whose reign alone will remain.

Understanding What Will Be Abolished

• Civil governments that reject His lordship (Psalm 2:1-9)

• Spiritual powers of darkness (Ephesians 6:12)

• Every self-exalting human system (Revelation 18:21-23)

Knowing this gives urgency to live as citizens of a different kingdom (Philippians 3:20).

Living under His Kingship Today

• Submit daily decisions to His Word—His rule begins in our hearts (John 14:21).

• Honor authorities while remembering Christ’s ultimate authority (Romans 13:1; Acts 5:29).

• Reject idols of power, success, or comfort that rival His throne (1 John 5:21).

Practicing Kingdom Loyalty

• Worship: Regularly declare, “Jesus is Lord” (Philippians 2:9-11).

• Obedience: Let His commands shape ethics, relationships, finances (Matthew 7:24-25).

• Sacrifice: Invest temporal resources in eternal purposes (Matthew 6:19-21).

Engaging Spiritual Readiness

• Pursue holiness: “Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be?” (2 Peter 3:11-14).

• Armor up: Stand firm against unseen rulers now (Ephesians 6:10-18).

• Pray “Your kingdom come” with expectancy (Matthew 6:10).

Cultivating Gospel Urgency

• Proclaim reconciliation before judgment falls (2 Corinthians 5:18-20).

• Disciple believers to maturity so they stand firm when lesser authorities collapse (Colossians 1:28).

• Support missions that extend Christ’s reign to every nation (Matthew 24:14).

Encouraging One Another

• Gather faithfully; community fuels perseverance (Hebrews 10:24-25).

• Share testimonies of Christ’s current victories, boosting hope (Revelation 12:11).

• Comfort the suffering with assurance of coming justice (2 Thessalonians 1:6-7).

Looking Ahead with Joy

“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 11:15)

Anticipating that glorious transfer shapes how we think, choose, and love today. Live ready, eyes fixed on the King whose abolition of every rival power will unveil the fullness of His perfect, eternal rule.
