Promote valuing wisdom and knowledge.
How can we encourage others to value wisdom and knowledge in their lives?

Key Verse for Our Study

"A wise man is strong, and a man of knowledge enhances his strength." —Proverbs 24:5

Why Wisdom and Knowledge Matter

• Wisdom supplies real strength—moral, spiritual, and practical—far beyond muscle power.

• Knowledge enlarges that strength, giving clarity for decisions and courage for hard days.

• Both are presented in Scripture as gifts from God that safeguard lives and bless communities.

Practical Ways to Encourage Others to Prize Wisdom

1. Model It Daily

• Let them see you opening the Bible, asking questions of the text, and adjusting your life accordingly.

• Share aloud the insights you gain; make wisdom attractive by showing its immediate impact.

2. Celebrate God-Given Insight

• When someone applies Scripture well, point it out and rejoice with them.

• Affirm that their choice reflects strength and maturity, just as Proverbs 24:5 promises.

3. Connect Wisdom to Real-Life Outcomes

• Explain how biblical principles avert pitfalls—financial, relational, or ethical.

• Tell brief stories (personal or historical) where godly knowledge spared heartache.

4. Offer Accessible Resources

• Gift a readable study Bible, a daily devotional, or an audio Bible app.

• Invite them to join you in a short reading plan—start with Proverbs or the Gospels.

5. Build a Wisdom-Seeking Community

• Form a small group where Scripture is read aloud and discussed openly.

• Encourage honest questions; let God’s Word speak for itself.

6. Pray for Them Consistently

• Ask the Lord to awaken hunger for truth and to grant understanding (see James 1:5).

Additional Verses That Reinforce the Call

• "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom." —Proverbs 9:10

• "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God...and it will be given." —James 1:5

• "He who walks with the wise will become wise." —Proverbs 13:20

• "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another." —Colossians 3:16

• "All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching." —2 Timothy 3:16

• "The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple." —Psalm 19:7

Living It Out

• Seek wisdom first in God’s Word, then encourage others by sharing what you learn.

• Remember: every time we exalt biblical wisdom, we strengthen both ourselves and those we love.
