Trusting God's plan in tough times?
How can we trust God's plan when facing seemingly impossible circumstances today?

When God Announces the Impossible

Exodus 4:21: “The LORD instructed Moses, ‘When you go back to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have put within your power. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.’”

• God sends Moses to a ruler guaranteed to refuse—an assignment set up to look doomed from the outset.

• The Lord Himself permits the resistance; the difficulty is not a surprise twist but part of His stated plan.

What This Reveals About God

• Sovereign Foreknowledge – He “declares the end from the beginning” (Isaiah 46:9-10).

• Purposeful Obstacles – Hardened hearts and closed doors become stages for greater works.

• Complete Provision – “Perform…all the wonders I have put within your power.” He equips before He sends.

• Unthwarted Plan – Resistance does not cancel the mission; it highlights God’s supremacy when victory arrives.

Seeing the Pattern Throughout Scripture

• Red Sea (Hebrews 11:29) – Water walls part only after Israel steps in.

• Jordan River (Joshua 3:15-16) – Floodwaters halt the moment priests’ feet touch.

• Gideon’s 300 (Judges 7) – Smaller force ensures God gets the credit.

• Empty Tomb (Luke 24) – Death itself becomes the backdrop for resurrection power.

How This Translates to Our “Impossible” Moments

• God already knows the obstacles we discover late.

• He places necessary resources “within your power” before the crisis surfaces—skills, Scripture, supportive people, spiritual gifts.

• Delays and denials may be divine setups for a larger deliverance.

• Our weakness showcases “this surpassingly great power…from God and not from us” (2 Corinthians 4:7-9).

Practical Steps for Trusting Today

1. Recall past deliverances—personal and biblical—to reset perspective.

2. Obey the next revealed step, even if the overall path looks blocked.

3. Declare the truth aloud: Romans 8:28 assures God is working “all things” for good.

4. Pray Scripture back to Him; it aligns emotions with reality.

5. Share testimonies of God’s faithfulness; hearing reinforces believing.

6. Refuse to measure success by immediate outcomes; wait for God’s timing to unfold.

Promises to Anchor the Heart

• “My purpose will stand” (Isaiah 46:10).

• “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).

• “In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).

• “The LORD fights for you; you need only to be still” (Exodus 14:14).
